The theme for this year is Breaking Barriers in History

 

To Register for the Contest:

  • 1. Once your teacher has created their account, you will click here, which will take you to the homepage of the contest.
  •  
  • 2. On the right side, under the header “Create Account,” you will fill out your name and email address, then click the “create account” button.
  •  
  • 3. When asked for registrant type (student, teacher, judge, volunteer, staff), you will select “Student.”
  •  
  • 4. You will then complete personal contact information and create a password.
  •  
  • 5. Click the “Save and Continue” button.
  •  
  • 6. This will take you to the page where you will enter information about your entry. You will either create an entry, or link to a group project that a teammate has already created.
  •  
  • 7. The following group members will begin thier own student account(s) and will enter the “team key” for their entry. (The first student in a group will create the entry. That student will then give their fellow group members the “team key.”) This will bring up the title and description for the entry that was filled out by the group member who created the entry.
  •  
  • 8. You will be prompted to enter your school, teacher, and grade information.
  •  
  • 9. Click “next” and answer further questions.
  •  
  • 10. Once the information is confirmed, you will be taken to a page where you, along with your parents/guardians, will agree to NHD permissions and waivers.
  •  
  • 11. Students will then enter payment information for any contest fees. Registration is complete only once all fees have been paid.

For participants bringing exhibits, we supply a table only. You will be responsible for any extension cords needed. The judging area for documentaries will have a TV/VCR/DVD player available for student use. All other equipment will be the responsibility of the student.

 

There is NO PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE INTERNET at Piqua Junior High School.

To Register for the Contest:

  • 4. You will then be prompted to answer additional questions and choose your school from a list. To easily find a school, use the search command by typing “ctrl” and “F” on a PC or “command” and “F” on a Mac.

  • 5. Please indicate if you are attending the contest.
  •  
  • 6. Don't forget to agree to NHD permissions and waivers.
  •  
  • 7. Click “Save and Continue” button.

  • 3. Complete personal contact information and create a password.

  • 4. Fill out judging preferences and reveiw and agree to NHD permissions and waivers.
  •  
  • 5. Currently, there is no place to tell us on the form about diet restrictions; please email ahite@ohiohistory.org to let us know.

 

The contest will be held at Piqua Junior High School, located off Looney Road on Tomahawk Trail, north of US 36. If you are on I-75, exit at US 36 and head east, Looney Road is the first traffic light. Turn left, and proceed to the traffic light at CR 25A, turn right and the Piqua Junior High/High School entrance will be on your right. Follow the drive as it takes you to the parking lot in front of the building to the left.

We will be meeting in the Library/Media Center.

 We will be providing light breakfast goodies and lunch.

9:00 am – Project judging begins

11:30 – First round project judging completed

11:45 – Second round judging

1:30 – Awards Ceremony
